What my students say about the courses

“Sunlight U is absolutely more than helpful! I think the biggest takeaways from all of these videos is teaching a survivor what to look for in a medical provider/therapist and the best modalities to utilize in recovery…we know there are many different approaches and it’s hard to know what to look for in a therapist and even the right fit..I had a therapist read an EMDR script and stopped me in the middle because she got it wrong! It was clear I would need to have patience that I didn’t have to work with her and I was able to find a better fit elsewhere. I agree with all of the modalities discussed as I had my journey.

The Alive Day video was such a beautiful concept and great way to reframe. I just finished the service dog video . It made me think of how much my dog is my safety blanket but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you for sharing your story as it resonated so much..it’s interesting and amazing to watch these videos and go over these concepts I’ve gone through but in a different place of my life…I still have work to do especially with interpersonal relationships but I just wanted to say thank you--it’s reignited some things I’ve put off working on back on the plate.”

“WOW, Sunlight U is so beautifully crafted and thoughtfully put together. It took a lot of belief and buy-in to start my healing journey, because in reality I was anything but fine. It took a great therapist, a lot of mental preparation, and a ton of research. I wanted to know what was ahead of me and what to expect at all times. The process of healing from trauma can be a long and challenging journey filled with ups and downs. One moment you may feel unstoppable and strong, and the next you might be sobbing and feel glued to your bed. This non-linear path to recovery is very normal. I know personally that a “one-legged stool” is not very stable. As I have shared my story with more trusted friends and engaged with more resources, my ability to heal and sit with my trauma has increased. As survivors, the more “legs” on our stool, the better. Those legs can be friends, family, therapists, nutrition, online forums, books, activities, and more. Whatever it is that supports your recovery. The content provided by Sunlight U has been one of those legs of support for me. The video and production quality is excellent throughout. I appreciate the use of visual aids and text. Generally they are just so AMAZING! You are doing incredible stuff!”
